April Ross
April Ross, a beach volleyball player in the US She is one of a small category of females who have had medals won in more than one Olympics. Alix Klineman is the newest Olympian who will be joining the team in Tokyo. Ross hopes to win the Olympic first gold medal, but she's also hoping for greater. At 39, this could be her last opportunity to claim the gold medal at an Olympics. Her optimism is that she will be able to win top awards. Ross stated to NBC Boston that if they are at their absolute best or even a good game and they are able to play well, the team could win a gold medal. So I'm going to take a little bit of luck too. Ross was a Californian born in Costa Mesa, California in 1982. Her family lived in the area along with her parents and younger sister. Her athletic career was continued by Newport Harbor High School where she was a part of a number of different sports. She was a basketball player and also ran track in addition to her indoor volleyball exploits in her time as a college athlete. Though she excelled when playing indoors however, it was evident that her skills were above normal. Her college biography states that she was an outside-hitting hitter, middle blocker, and setter throughout her volleyball time in high school. Her efforts were recognized in 1999 when she was named Gatorade's Circle of Champions National Player of the Year. Her skills in volleyball brought her the Orange County Athlete of the Awards in the year 2000. Ross and Klineman have been performing their roles in the year 2017. The reality is that Ross played a significant role in the beach volleyball scene prior to the pair. She actually won several major championships while playing in the past with two different partners. one of which is a volleyball icon. She teamed up with Jennifer Kessy from 2007-2013, and also was Klineman's trainer. Kessy was Ross's teammate at the World Championships in 2009. The duo took silver in London's Olympic Games. Misty May, Kerri Walsh and Kerri Jennings were the group to beat out for gold. Ross was Walsh Jennings new partner after May-Treanor's departure. In 2016, the pair were awarded bronze medals at the Rio Olympics for beach volleyball. Ross was a college athlete with the Trojans of USC prior to the start of her professional career. She played in high school and in years prior to hitting the beach professionally. Her experience at USC was awe-inspiring. The year 2000 was her freshman year. saw her earn the Pac-10 as well as NCAA Freshman's of the Award and also be named an All-American. The Trojans had the chance to reach the Final Four with her help. In her sophomore year, she was devastated by a personal setback but managed to make it back as an All-American. In her last two years, she took the Trojans up the mountain and won consecutive national titles. She was a great volleyball player and won the Honda Sports Award in 2003-04 as the best female volleyball player in the NCAA. Ross played international relations as a student at USC. Margie Ross, Ross' mother, was never given the privilege of watching her daughter grow into the beach volleyball's biggest star. As of 2001, when Ross was a sophomore at USC her mother died of breast cancer. Ross holds her mother very dearly. Margie remains an inspiration both on and off of the shore.
